Oh be careful…

Her personality is really coming out in all her expressions now. Miriam’s latest sayings have made for very good stories, but make me so aware of just how much she is learning from us every second. No conversation is sacred with little ears around. Recently we’ve heard her saying –

“You drive me nuts!”
“How many times I tell you?”

And today we were trying to look at her blister that is healing over, and she kept telling me it was gone. Mom and I were still trying to check so she got very frustrated and finally yelled
“It’s gone, People!”

It makes me think of the song we teach our kids – Oh be careful little eyes what you see, be careful little ears what you hear, etc. But we just can’t control everything that our kids see and hear unless we want to go start a commune on a desert island. And while that may be tempting on some levels, it still wouldn’t work. Aaron and I would still have our daily frustrations that end up in the occasional outbursts of the not-so-perfect variety. I suppose we have to settle for letting our kids realize that we aren’t perfect. Mommy and Daddy make mistakes too, and we have say we’re sorry, and ask for forgiveness. I suppose all in all that’s not such a bad thing to teach them.
