Bedtime and Miriam

March 30th, 2008 by lydia

Miriam is a Turner by night, a Johnson by morning. Which, for those of you who do not know us well, means she wants to stay up late AND jump out of bed in the morning. An odd combination if you ask me. Many nights after we have put her to bed we hear singing, talking, counting, etc. coming from the bedroom. The other night I heard clomping and singing so had to investigate. This is what I saw…

That is Miriam wearing Simon’s wedding shoes over her footy pj’s and dancing with her singing princess barbie from Aunt Lori. You push the dolls stomach and she sings an ‘island song’. (Simon has it memorized)

After Miriam finally goes to sleep, she wakes up between 12 midnite and 1:30am, at which point she climbs in bed with us. I have tried and do occasionly still try to take her back to her bed, but really at 1am who wants to deal with an obstinate crying toddler? It’s so much nicer to cuddle up and enjoy the time I have with a sweet snuggly baby. I know this will pass and although Aaron might start getting better sleep, I will really miss the quiet pattering of feet coming down the hall.
