Snow Much Snow

Today we got about a foot of snow. (Actual evening news measurement was 13.5″) It was plain awesome. I don’t really remember it snowing like this since I was a little kid. I started to think maybe I was just remembering things incorrectly. Remembering the snow was really deep but actually it was only deep because I was so little. But today, we finally got the snow I’ve remembered all these years. I was actually sad when it stopped.

We took the kids outside a lot today. Tonight, I planned on taking Simon out for a little bit before dinner but we ended up playing outside for a couple hours. He talked me into a game of soccer to 10. I ended up kicking the ball over the fence and I couldn’t open the door to get it because of the piled up snow. So I jumped over and landed on my back. I popped up on the other side and Simon thought it was pretty cool. He beat me.

Our neighbors came out just when I was planning on heading in and so we stayed out for another hour playing in their yard. We ended up sledding down their driveway on one of those inner-tube kinda sleds. I can’t believe it took me 5 years to think of sledding down the driveway. I am sure that will become a tradition.
